Our project was split into three phases due to cash flow requirements. I am an Architect and the designer and wanted all assurances that the builder could carry out my vision. Frank (owner) was very hands on during our design phase offering suggestions and visiting showrooms with us to select materials. The house was constructed in the 1920s and gave us all the surprise one would expect in a hundred-year-old home. The Portico project was finished first and on schedule. We were very specific about custom finishes that we wanted to achieve and Frank and his crew made repeated efforts until we were satisfied. The project was highly successful. There was minor callback work related to manufacturer issues that Frank addressed promptly. The second project was a master bathroom complete reconfiguration and expansion that was in the design phase when we had a surprise and unrelated water line break. Frank made an emergency visit and performed selective demolition to triage the problem. He worked with us and the insurance company to process the claim quickly. The project had an aggressive schedule due to the fact that we were hosting an event. The project was ultimately successful, but suffered some delays due mostly to manufacturer delays delivering necessary products including a major labor strike from our plumbing fixture supplier. Although some of the delays may have been better avoided, Frank was very responsive and made efforts to keep the project moving, including doing some work out of sequence at his expense. The project is publication-worthy so we are happy. The final project was a partial fixture and finish upgrade of a guest bathroom that was completed to our satisfaction. CDC offers a 1-year warranty for their work and has been responsive to the little issues that creep up with installation in older homes. We remain satisfied and have recommended CDC to neighbors.

We had to do this job before my son’s Outdoor/Pool Bday party that was a couple of weeks away. I want to make my story as short as possible, however I want to mention all the important things that happened. Firstly, the experience was good. Frank came to our house to check out the site, gave some suggestions and a couple of days later got a fair estimate with some conditions. The job costed a bit more at the end, but I think it makes up for the attention and courtesy Frank gave us every time. We went together to a couple of tile places (that’s almost 2 hours spent), Then, he explained the job and all the other details and implications of the job. Which I thought was great, having in mind we’re not all ” construction” savvy. He came by the site a few times to check on things. The agreed time frame passed, but I kind of expected that (as from any construction team. They are more or less weather dependent.) I was however stressed about my sons party, and we literally had a couple of days to paint the pool myself and refill 25.000 gallons of water and treat… Frank, I’m sure, did everything he could to make things happen, considering the busy season( June), weather and other projects they must have been working on.. As a bottom line, I would hire CDC again, I would give myself a little more wiggle room with fair unforeseen expenses and realistic time. I want to thank Frank and his team for all his good work and attention on every aspect. We’re extending our house soon, and Frank/CDC will be the first on the list to reach out to.

My garage had suffered a bit of wood rot and water rot and was substantially leaning to the side.  It was leaning so much that I could not even open or close my garage door anymore.  It had been slowly getting worse and was becoming a safety concern for my family.
We called CDC and Frank was quick to respond to my initial call and immediately scheduled an appointment.  He was very punctual with his appointments and responses to all other future e-mails and voicemail.  Frank came on-site and quickly told us to save our money.  He told us that we didn’t need to build a new garage and that he could confidently fix the problem.  His price was competitive when compared to other quotes and we appreciated his honesty in not trying to upsell a new garage.  So, we hired CDC for making the structural repairs and replacing the garage door.
Frank was extremely friendly and very conscientious of getting the job done correctly unlike many other contractors who are overly driven by time and profit.  Workers were very polite and cleaned up nicely each day.  Work was very high quality and the garage is about as perfectly square as we could have hoped.  The work was done so well and so neatly that we asked Frank to have his workers repair some rotted stringers on my deck stairs.  They pulled the treads and risers off the stairs and replaced the rotten stringers.  My stairs and garage are now solid as a rock.
Frank subbed out the garage door replacement.  The price for the new garage door was cheaper than I was quoted from other vendors.  The guys who installed the garage door were just as friendly and professional as Frank’s guys.  And the quality of work is just as good.
I’m extremely satisfied with Creative Design Concepts and my wife and I are weighing out what our next project will be for them to tackle.

The project went very well, I am extremely pleased with the outcome. I worked directly with Frank from initial conversation through completion, and he was always very quick to respond to all questions and concerns. The project was to demo an attached shed that was beyond repair, followed by insulating and replacing the external wall & shingles. As the shed was removed it was noticed that there was an issue with the existing foundation to my house that could ultimately cause damage to the exterior wall of the dining room. Originally I had contacted Frank at Creative Design to replace the stone shower pan in one of my bathrooms that had cracked. I ended up replacing the entire shower, the kitchen counter, a light switch in my bedroom and all the shelves in all my closets as well has having 2 walls and a 2nd bathroom painted. His pricing for all that was very good and within my budget. Frank was very responsive and kept in touch regarding scheduling and start date. Frank worked with me throughout the process to ensure the work was completed to my liking.  First the roof leak to the basement was identified and an interior and exterior wall posts were replaced.  Cedar tounge and groove panneling was installed on the underside of the portico roof.  We have a small 13×10 basement room connecting the garage to the house had wall to ceiling wallpaper and a damaged wall from the roof leak.  CDC replaced the damaged wall and covered the remainder of the room with 1/4 in sheetrock.  Stone veneer was applied to one wall.   Frank’s advice not to use grout for the stone work was good advice and the job results were fantastic.  Tile floors were installed over two days with excellent results.
Frank responds quickly to questions and always made himself available.  The crew was very respectful and cleaned up everyday before leaving.  Great work overall.

Frank and his crew completely revamped our living room.  There was a fireplace near the front door
which was an awkward location  – we had the gas line/fireplace repositioned across the room to make the fireplace the
focal point.  A stone veneer was applied and the plain ceiling was transformed to a ?mid-century modern? looking tongue
and groove ceiling with beams.  The old fireplace was chipped away and they were able to put a full size closet in its
place.  The hardwood floor was patched where the old hearth was and it looks amazing.  A med sized book case/room divider was custom made and all of the trim replaced/stained.
Our hallway had textured walls? had these covered with sheetrock and new trim.  Bedroom was also
transformed to have a “midcentury modern” look.  Luan panels were applied to two walls and stained a beautiful color and missing drawers to a built in dresser were fabricated.    Two new casement windows were installed and, in another room, an additional closet was created as a result of moving the fireplace.  All floors in house were sanded and re-stained.
A few issues came up with the work but Frank was extremely quick to have it corrected.  Any workmanship issues we didn’t approve of were also quickly addressed.  Other minor workmanship issues we “let go” because it’s an older home and has its quirks and we did some of the “finishing” work ourselves.
Frank responds quickly to questions and even met me at a hardware store to be sure we were on the same page about the new doors installed.  Always pleasant to meet with and what I liked most about the process was that he took our ideas,
images/sketches and made it happen.  An example are the beams…. he made mockups of our requested dimensions and positioned them on the ceiling to get our feedback.  Also sent photos of the stain colors on different woods qualities we were working with.  Nice collaboration.

We received an estimate and signed the contract after meeting with Frank, the owner. We were immediately impressed by his general knowledge and attention to detail. The same week, he met us at the granite store so we could pick out the countertop and sink. We also visited Wayne Tile to select the tiles we wanted. I purchased separately the faucet which Frank had installed with the sink. The first day, they took a lot of time to cover the entire kitchen floor with a protective cover, which was a good thing. Then they did the demolition and started on the electric. The granite company came to measure and had the counter done in 3 days.
The attention to detail in every area of the work Frank’s men did is very impressive. I can’t remember ever using any company that did job as close to perfect as this one. When the job was finished, everything was put back and cleaned as if they were never there.

Frank was very responsive and provided a very competitive estimate for our project.  He kept us posted on the timing for our job and was always available by phone and e-mail.  We really appreciated that he made sure to schedule our project at a time when he and his crews could commit to working straight through until its completion.
He handled all permits and materials for our project and ensured orders were placed so materials were available when the job began.  His crew quickly worked through all phases of our project, but never cut corners and pointed out changes that needed to be made to ensure the work was done correctly and would last for a long time. Construction of our new facade (including demolition, framing, and finish work) took about 4 days to complete and ended on a Thursday.  Frank ensured the roofing crew was scheduled to show up on Monday morning to begin replacement of our roof and their team showed up on time and performed the work as promised (completed that Thursday).
The painting crew showed up the following Monday and was there first thing in the morning every day until the exterior painting was complete (4 days).
All aspects of our project were handled with the utmost professionalism and care.  Frank and all of his crews were courteous, responsive to requests, and followed up to ensure we were fully satisfied with the work being completed.  The project cost came in very close to the original estimate, on schedule, and without any issues.

Frank is one of the few people I would trust doing work on our house. He was referred to us by our electrician and was great to deal with. He was on time to all appointments and answers emails in a very timely (same day) manner.
He worked around my schedule and performed the work on a Saturday. He brought two of his guys to help complete the job and even brought donuts for us (my wife and I) and his guys. He showed up promptly at 7:30am and finished by 4pm, which is exactly what he told us.
There were no surprises half way through the job, which led to extra expenses. The guys cleaned up after themselves and everyone was professional and personable.
While Frank was here he also checked two other issues (Front door not staying open and a insulation issue in the down stairs bathroom). He didn’t charge us for looking at either issue and suggested a fix for both issues.

Our back sun porch had a wall that needed to be removed, an old bead board ceiling that needed to be torn out, insulated and sheet rocked, wall paper removed and walls made ready for new wall paper, required new custom moldings and crown mouldings for the ceiling, windows and baseboard and we needed to close in a backdoor.  Frank and his team were professional, punctual and completed all the work in 5 days.  Further, Frank is very responsive via email or the phone which is very reassuring when you are going through a renovation.  They were also able to provide ideas that we had not thought of during the construction.

In a matter of three days, they ripped up the old carpet, buffed the floors (so that the new concrete would bond with the floor), trimmed the doors, poured self-leveling concrete, laid the tiles, grout, then disposed of all the waste.
He was very professional from start to finish and offered great suggestions when necessary. They were also extremely neat – the work occurred during a rainstorm yet managed to not track in any mud!

We completely gutted our living room ourselves prior to work being done. We had met with several contractors that did not return calls and gave us ridiculously over priced quotes and did not seem to understand what we were trying to do and even tried to change what we wanted to something simpler. Frank sat down with us took some measurements and within a very short time gave us a quote and time frame to complete the work that was well below everyone else. He understood what we were looking for and made excellent suggestions to get the look we wanted. The job was to add sheet rock to the walls and pre-finished knotty pine (that we supplied) to the ceiling and gables, add new pine to exposed beams, and a stone veneer above fire place. Frank and his crew arrived every morning on time between 7-730am. The first day they set up quickly to cover our hard wood floors and added plastic sheets to open doorways for dust control. They had all the tools necessary to complete the work and only took 1/2 hr breaks for lunch. The sheet rock and went up quickly and the spackling job was top quality. They used special dust reducing equipment for the spackle sanding which kept dust a minimum. The knotty pine proved especially challenging due to walls and ceiling not being straight or flush. Still they were able to complete it in a day and a half and then added trim and around windows, doors, ceiling, and the walls where the sheet rook met the knotty pine. They also coved exposed cross beams in living room with nice new pine and added a beautiful stone veneer above the fire place. The masonry work excellent! Originally I was going to special order a mantle for the fireplace but found most were too expensive. Frank was able to build me a new one that looked just as good for much less.
I can’t say enough about how happy we are with the overall work and look forward to having them back for other work in the future.
